The entire sci-fi saga. In 'Saga of a Star World', the twelve colonial tribes of man are tricked by their mechanoid enemies, the Cylons, into attending a fake peace conference, where they are devastated by a powerful attack. The remnants of humanity, under the command of surviving council member Adama (Lorne Greene), set out as a convoy of ships led by the Battlestar Galactica in search of their legendary thirteenth colony: the Earth. Adama is helped by his son, squadron fighter Apollo (Richard Hatch), daughter Athena and dashing pilot Starbuck (Dirk Benedict) as he attempts to elude the pursuing Cylons, headed by their Imperious Leader. In 'Lost Planet of the Gods Parts 1 and 2', the Galactica enters a magnetic void where all navigational signals are scrambled. The Cylons continue to pursue them, however, leading to a personal tragedy for Apollo and his new bride, Serena. In 'The Gun on Ice Planet Zero Parts 1 and 2', Apollo leads a desperate away mission to the planet Arcta, where the Cylon warrior robots have a mountain-based laser trained on the Galactica. Although outnumbered and outgunned, Apollo's team receive help from the slave clone society on the planet. In 'The Long Patrol', Starbuck finds himself trapped on a penal planet after losing the ultrafast Starchaser spaceship to a cunning convict. 'The Young Lords' sees Starbuck ransomed to the Cylons by a group of children after crash-landing on their planet. In 'The Lost Warrior', Apollo helps out a farming community that is being persecuted by cattle barons when he crash lands on a wild west-style planet. 'The Magnificent Warriors' sees Adama strapped into romancing an old flame in order to save the fleet from starvation, while in 'The Man with Nine Lives', Starbuck has to protect an aging conman (Fred Astaire) who just might be his long-lost father. In 'The Living Legend (1)', Commander Cain of the lost Battlestar Pegasus risks the future of humanity when he announces his intention of launching a suicidal attack on the Cylons. 'The Living Legend (2)' sees Adama forced to join forces with Cain in an attempt to avert complete disaster. Finally, in 'Fire in Space', Adama is badly wounded in a Cylon attack on Battlestar Galactica.
