A televised adaptation of E.M. Forster's classic novel starring Elaine Cassidy as Lucy Honeychurch, the young Edwardian lady who takes her horizon-broadening trip to Florence in the early 1900s, chaperoned by her Aunt Charlotte (Sophie Thompson). After Lucy is kissed by George Emerson (Rafe Spall) - the most improper of suitors - she is whisked back to the idyllic English countryside by her Aunt. Lucy must decide whether to follow through with her marriage to the insufferably self-regarding Cecil (Laurence Fox) or to follow her heart and her growing attraction to George.
