Three-film retrospective of Brad Pitt's career: In 'Sleepers' (1999), in Sixties New York, four young boys, Lorenzo, Michael, John and Tommy, grow up in Hell's Kitchen, befriended by both the local priest and the gang boss. However, when a prank has near-fatal consequences the boys are sent to reform school, where they are sexually abused and beaten by a quartet of prison guards, an experience that marks the rest of their lives. Barry Levinson directs an all-star cast including Robert De Niro, Dustin Hoffman, Brad Pitt, Kevin Bacon and Jason Patrick. In 'Meet Joe Black' (1997), media tycoon William Parrish (Anthony Hopkins) is approaching his sixty-fifth birthday when he encounters Death (Brad Pitt) himself. Parrish is offered a few extra days of life if he allows the Grim Reaper into his home and, keen to finish off an important company merger, agrees, introducing his new guest to friends and family as Joe Black. Joe begins to fall in love with Parrish's daughter, Susan (Claire Forlani), who is engaged to Drew (Jake Weber), Parrish's deputy. When Parrish decides against the merger, Drew stages a boardroom coup and attempts to oust the tycoon. Former 'Monty Python' animator Terry Gilliam directs the gritty sci-fi thriller 'Twelve Monkeys' (1995). In the year 2035 the world has been decimated by a virus, which originated back in 1996. Convict James Cole (Bruce Willis) is selected to travel back in time to trace the virus to its source. The first attempt at time travel lands Cole back in 1990, where he is diagnosed as a schizophrenic and committed to a mental institution. Can he escape and get to the right year to prevent the virus' outbreak?
