Six films by Italian horror director Dario Argento. Three of the films in the collection - 'The Bird With the Crystal Plumage' (1970), 'Cat 'O' Nine Tails' (1971) and 'Profundo Rosso' (1975) - are made in the 'Giallo' tradition: violent and shocking detective stories in which explicit violence, groovy music and stylish camera angles abound. 'Demons 1' (1985) and 'Demons 2' (1986), produced by Argento and directed by Lamberto Bava, are mid-80s euro-trash zombie horror flicks featuring plenty of gory effects and a pounding heavy metal soundtrack. Finally, Argento's lesser-known 'Phenomena' (1985) is a 1980s gore-fest starring Donald Pleasence and Jennifer Connelly.
