Four films starring the legendary actor. 'Indecent Proposal' (1993) follows a down-on-their-luck yuppie couple, Diana and David Murphy (Demi Moore and Woody Harrelson), as they head for Las Vegas to win back their lifestyle. When they lose their money at the tables, their only hope comes from rich gambler John Gage (Redford), who offers them a million dollars if he can sleep with Diana. In 'The Great Gatsby' (1974), Redford takes the title role in an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's novel about the self-made millionaire who becomes an object of fascination for his neighbour, Nick Carraway (Sam Waterston). 'Ordinary People' (1980) is Redford's directorial debut. This portrait of an American family coming to grips with the loss of a son stars Timothy Hutton as a suicidal teenager unable to overcome his guilt after his brother's death. Donald Sutherland is his well-meaning but ineffectual father and Mary Tyler Moore plays his cold, embittered mother. Finally, in 'Barefoot in the Park' (1967), kooky Corie (Jane Fonda) and straight-laced Paul (Redford) are newlyweds who begin living together and quickly find their dreams of domesticity don't tally. She loves their top-floor apartment with the leaky sky-light - he can't cope with the stairs; she wants to party - he, exhausted after a day at the office, just wants to sleep. The situation is further complicated by the arrival of Corie's even kookier mother and her fling with the newlyweds' neighbour.
