Made for television dramatisation of Anne Rule's novel, based on her own real life experience. In the 1970s, Anne Rule (Barbara Hershey) worked as a counsellor on a suicide hotline, and became close friends with a young man called Ted Bundy (Bill Campbell), one of her colleagues. Little did she know that Bundy was already committing horrific crimes against women, and had started a murder spree that would claim up to 36 victims. Rule did not find out the truth until several years later, when she began researching various unsolved sex murders and arrived at a shocking conlusion about who was responsible.
