San Francisco flatmates Christina (Cameron Diaz), Courtney (Christina Applegate) and Jane (Selma Blair) go out for a night's clubbing to help the latter forget about her recent break-up with her long-term boyfriend. That night, commitment-shy Christina meets Peter (Thomas Jane), who she thinks she might like, yet when she tries to track him down the next day, she finds that he is in the process of getting married.
