Two documentaries describing two famous Apollo missions. On July 20, 1969, billions of people watched in awe as the Lunar Module from the Apollo 11 mission landed safely on the moon. 'Apollo 11 - The Eagle Has Landed', recounts the historical flight of Apollo 11 from the launch countdown to the critical landing, including photos and live footage shot from the surface of the moon, as well as recordings of the conversations between astronauts Neil Armstrong, Edwin E. 'Buzz' Aldrin Jr., and Michael Collins as they head this incredible journey into the unknown. On April 11, 1970, the flight of Apollo 13 began as a routine mission of scientific exploration - man's fifth lunar mission, the third scheduled to land on the moon. However, due to a serious power supply malfunction in the spacecraft, the mission was terminated early. 'Apollo 13 - Houston We've Got A Problem' goes behind the scenes at the control centre to see how the tension takes its toll on engineers, scientists and of course the crew. Somehow, the astronauts had to ensure a safe descent from 200,000 miles away. Moments of doubt were intensified by constant obstacles as the lives of the three astronauts remained uncertain. After days of ardous suspense, millions of concerned Americans watched as the crew made a miraculous splash landing in the Pacific Ocean.
