Triple-bill of films starring Matthew McConaughey. 'Sahara' (2005) is a swashbuckling adventure, based on the novel by Clive Cussler and starring McConaughey as explorer Dirk Pitt. After finding a rare coin in West Africa, Dirk thinks he's close to solving the mystery of an American Civil War-era battleship that went missing with a valuable cargo of gold. Along with his inept sidekick Al (Steve Zahn), Dirk sets out to track down the treasure. On the way he becomes involved with Eva (Penelope Cruz), a beautiful UN doctor who is trying to find the source of a mysterious disease sweeping the country. Years after terrorising a small Texas community, the 'God's Hand Killer' seems to have returned. Convinced that he knows the killer's identity, Fenton Meiks (McConaughey) shows up at FBI Headquarters, intent on putting an end to the murderous rampage and relieving his conscience of his family's sinister secrets. The comedy 'How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days' (2003) stars Kate Hudson and McConaughey as two people determined to prove a point. Andie (Hudson) works on the advice column of a woman's magazine, but she yearns to be a serious journalist. When her friend, Michelle, complains of being dumped, and her editor (Bebe Neuwirth) is looking for someone to write an article on how to win and lose a man in 10 days, Andie jumps at the chance. Ben (McConaughey) works for an advertising company and is trying to win a place on a very big account with a diamond firm. Egged on by his two female colleagues who have heard about the magazine article, Ben tells his boss that he is the man for the job as he can make any woman fall for him within two weeks. The scene is set, Ben and Andie are set up to choose each other for their hidden agendas and the pair find that they have to work twice as hard to succeed.
