British comedy, based on the hit television series. Walter (Wilfred Pickles) and Ada (Irene Handl) are about to celebrate their first wedding anniversary, despite the fact that they're both in their seventies. What should be a happy day for the elderly couple soon turns into a farce, as a series of mishaps means the surprise party laid on for them by Ada's daughter might not go ahead. At the same time, Wilfred loses the money for the present he was going to buy his wife, while Ada becomes convinced that her husband has been knocked down by a car.
