Harry Block (Woody Allen) is a renowned novelist with an unfortunate habit for using those around him as so-much fuel for the characters in his books. Just as he is to be awarded an honorary doctorate by the college that had expelled him, he comes against the dreaded writer's block and risks losing his last girlfriend, Fay (Elisabeth Shue), to rival writer and old friend Larry (Billy Crystal). The film's latter half, Harry's existential roadtrip, is a tragi-comic homage to Ingmar Bergman's 'Wild Strawberries', as Harry's fictional characters come alive to challenge him. Also available as part of a VHS double bill with 'Mighty Aphrodite'.
