Another case for Detective Chief Inspector Barnaby (John Nettles) and Sergeant Troy (Daniel Casey). When a local doctor becomes worried that he may have hit someone while driving home from the pub, Barnaby agrees to look into the matter. He then runs into apparently-reformed criminal Melvyn Stockard, who is in the middle of making preparations for his daughter's wedding day. Soon one of the wedding party turns up dead, and Barnaby is left wondering how the two cases are connected.
