Dramatisation of the strange events alleged to have taken place in November 1975 in the mountain town of Snowflake, Arizona, when forestry worker Travis Walton (D.B. Sweeney) disappeared for nearly a week and claimed to have been abducted by aliens in a flying saucer. The authorities quickly attributed Walton's disappearance to murder after uncovering evidence of tension between him and his fellow logger (Craig Sheffer). But Walton's subsequent re-appearance and incredible testimony, coupled with the evidence of his five fellow workers who witnessed the event, appeared to substantiate his (literally) out-of-this-world abduction story.
