Another box set of five Clint Eastwood films. In 'Tightrope' (1984) Eastwood plays a New Orleans cop who is on the trail of a sex murderer. However, it seems that they both share the same tastes when it comes to massage parlours and S and M games, and the lines between the pursuer and pursued become ever more blurred - with the finger of suspicion turning towards the cop himself. 'The Rookie' (1991) is directed by Eastwood and features Charlie Sheen as a buttoned-down young policeman who pairs up with Eastwood's hard-bitten, hard-drinking maverick. The duo work in the auto-theft division and are on the trail of a big stolen car ring. Initially despising his older colleague's methods, the 'rookie' realises it's time to get tough when his partner is kidnapped. In 'Honkytonk Man' (1982) Eastwood plays alcoholic country singer Red Stovall, who is trying to make it to a Nashville audition with the aim of performing at the Grand Ole Opry before he dies of cancer. Eastwood's son Kyle plays the nephew attempting to keep his uncle on the straight and narrow as they head towards Country and Western's Holy Grail. 'Firefox' (1982) sees Eastwood direct, produce and star in this adaption of the Craig Thomas espionage novel. Eastwood is an ex-airforce pilot who is coerced out of retirement to infiltrate the Russian Air Force and steal a prototype jet - the Firefox - which is invisible to radar, capable of speeds of Mach 5 and has a thought controlled weapons system. Whilst 'A Perfect World' (1993) is also directed by Eastwood. Butch Haynes (Kevin Costner) is a convict who has escaped from a Texas jail halfway through a life sentence. Stumbling across a local family, he kidnaps seven-year-old Phillip Perry (T.J. Lowther) and sets off to make a quick exit. As he flees the clutches of Texas Ranger Red Garnett (Eastwood), he starts to feel responsible for his bemused hostage, and decides to cast himself as the father figure which the youngster never had.
