'Disappearing Acts' ò DVD5.
A Wesley Snipes double bill. In 'Liberty Stands Still' Liberty Wallace (Linda Fiorentino) is an arms manufacturer who has made a fortune out of trading in weapons. She receives a phone call from a man named Joe (Snipes) whose daughter was killed by one of Liberty's guns in a high school shooting, and he tells Liberty that he currently has a high-powered rifle aimed at her. Eager for revenge, Joe also wants to expose the shady dealings of Liberty's company, and tries to negotiate a confession from his hostage. When Liberty's husband (Oliver Platt) arrives with the police, the tense situation grows even more complicated. Whilst in 'Disappearing Acts' Franklin Swift (Snipes) is a construction worker whose job is always on the line and Zora Banks (Sanaa Lathan) is a music teacher who longs to become a successful singer/songwriter. A chance encounter throws the two together and they embark on a passionate affair. But their love is tested when they move in together, as money starts to cause problems, Franklin's past catches up with him, and Zora reveals a secret of her own.
