Commentary (John Sayles (director).)
Writer-director John Sayles' film about the impact of property developers on the small Florida town Delrona Beach. Returning to the town after many years away, actress Desiree Perry (Angela Perry) meets her old high school boyfriend Flash Phillips (Tom Wright), but is upset to discover that he is working for the developers. Meanwhile, as the developers override community opposition and prepare to bulldoze the local forest, Marly Temple (Edie Falco), the daughter of acting teacher Delia (Jane Alexander), finds herself going against her own better judgement and falling for development team member Jack Meadows (Timothy Hutton).
