Thief Kevin Caffery (Martin Lawrence) breaks into the beachfront home of millionaire Max Fairbanks (Danny DeVito) hoping to make a big score. But when Max catches him in the act and calls the police to have him arrested, the millionaire craftily claims that the crook's lucky ring in fact belongs to him.
