Detective Michael D'Angelo (C. Thomas Howell) has been suspended from duty after allowing a notorious cop-killer to escape from his clutches. To make things worse, his girlfriend, acclaimed attorney Theresa Marsh (Joan Severance) has ditched him and married a respectable doctor (Nick Mancuso). When Theresa is assigned to the prosecution of a high-profile homicide case, she is bombarded with death threats, but vows that she will not be intimidated into submission. However, when her husband disappears and she is told that she should drop the case or he'll be killed, Theresa decides that it is time to get back in contact with Michael, before it is too late.
