The entire documentary series from the makers of the BAFTA award-winning 'Britain at War in Colour' series. Using rare early colour film footage this is a look at the history of the British Empire in 3 chapters: 'A Tryst with Destiny' looks at the rise and fall of the pomp and ceremony of imperialism from the Trooping of the Colour in 1906 through to the 1926 General Strike; 'The Wind of Change' looks at the problems the British encountered in Palestine and their withdrawal, the Suez Crisis through to the Mau Mau uprising in Kenya; whilst 'Legacy' looks at the flight from post-war Britain to Australia and Canada and the social changes and attitudes that have happened since the 1960s. With narration by Art Malik and an exclusive 'Making of...' documentary, this series is also available as part of the 'Great Britain in Colour' box set on both DVD and VHS.
